While most of APGI's current
members are based around Dublin, there are two in
the Belfast area as well as two in Kerry. As individuals, many of
these members contribute much of their free time
to voluntary work in family history circles, serving
on the committees of amateur societies and of the
Irish Genealogical Congress, lecturing and contributing
articles to genealogical journals.
Developments in Irish genealogy in recent years
have been rapid. APGI has been to the fore in endeavouring
to guarantee that high standards are applied and
that public access of records is maintained and
improved. It is a small organisation, but a resourceful
and successful one.
