Patricia Moorhead has been involved in genealogy
since 1993. She holds a diploma in Local History
from the National University of Ireland – Maynooth
(1996), and a Certificate in Genealogy from University
College Dublin (1999).
Patricia has been a member of APGI since 2000. She
has worked in the Genealogical Advisory Service in
the National Library since 2000 and in the National
Archives since 2003. Being a Dubliner, Patricia is
particularly interested in researching Dublin families.
Since 1996 Patricia has delivered lectures to various
family history and local history societies all over
Dublin. She has been a committee member of the Irish
Family History Society since 1995.
On her visit to Australia in 2000 to research her
Melbourne born grandmother’s family, Patricia
lectured to both the Australian Institute of Genealogical
Studies and the Genealogical Society of Ireland in
Melbourne. She was associated with the 2nd and 3rd
Irish Genealogical Congress, and was a speaker at
the 4th Irish Genealogical Congress, held in Trinity
College, Dublin, in 2001. She has contributed articles
to Irish Roots, and the journals of the Irish Family
History Society, Ballinteer Family History Society
and the Genealogical Society of Ireland.
