Eileen Ó Dúill specialises in legal and probate research, including applications for Irish citizenship. She has researched over 200 estates in order to locate the rightful heirs in intestate cases in Ireland and worldwide. Eileen has been admitted as expert genealogical witness at kinship hearings in the Surrogate Courts of New York County, Queens County, Bronx County and the Surrogate Courts of Westchester and Nassau Counties between 1991 and 2004. She currently serves on the board of the Association of Professional Genealogists (U.S.) as the International Trustee representing Ireland and Great Britain.

In 1993 Eileen was admitted to APGI. In 1995 she attained accreditation from the Board for Certification in America as a Certified Genealogical Record Specialist and in 2001 became a Certified Genealogical Lecturer. She is currently a Certified Genealogist. She spoke at the Irish Genealogical Congress in 1994, 1997 and 2001, at the ( U.S.) National Genealogical Society Conferences 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2005 and at the ( U.S.) Federation of Genealogical Societies Conferences in 2002, 2003, 2006. She also lectured at the XXVth International Congress of Genealogical and Heraldic Sciences held in Dublin in 2003, the 2004 International Genealogical Conference in Sligo, the Galway International Genealogical Conference in 2005 and at the New England Historic Genealogical Society Irish Seminar Day in Boston, Massachusetts, in 2004.

Eileen is co-author with fellow APGI member, Steven ffeary-Smyrl, of Irish Civil Registration – Where Do I Start? (2000) in the “Exploring Irish Genealogy” series published by the Council of Irish Genealogical Organisations (CIGO). She is one of two APGI members who serve as Directors of Irish Genealogy Ltd. Eileen is a past President of the Association of American Women in Ireland.
